My name is Josh Dorminy, and I’m asking for your vote to serve as your next State Court Judge.

I wasn’t born here. But I chose this place. My parents were teachers, my dad coached football, and, growing up, I lived in every corner of this state. I came here in high school, graduated from McIntosh County Academy in 2007 as valedictorian, and somewhere along the way I met the best thing that ever happened to me, my wife, Jaclyn.

I left for college at Shorter University, where I studied and played football. Then I went on to law school at the University of Georgia. But no matter where life took us, this community was always home. We’d come back for football games, to work at our family’s Christmas tree farm, and of course for the best shrimp you’ll find anywhere.

After law school, Jaclyn and I moved to Savannah, and I have been in courtrooms across the country. I gained experience. I learned how different judges run their courtrooms, some better than others. And I saw firsthand how much the right kind of leadership on the bench matters.

When our twin daughters, Winnie and Daisy, were born, we made a decision. We wanted them raised right here under these oaks, around people who believe in hard work, faith, and treating others with respect. So we moved home. I brought my practice to Darien, and I’ve been committed to serving this community ever since.

I’ve stood in countless courtrooms. I know what works, and I know what doesn’t. If you entrust me with this office, I will run a courtroom that is respectful, steady, and fair. Everyone who walks through those doors — lawyer or not — will be treated with dignity. The law will be applied fairly. And the community will know they have a judge who listens.

This place has given me a great deal, a wife, a family, a profession, and a home. I’d be honored to give back by serving as your State Court Judge.
